What our Customers are Saying……

Hello Peter

Got back last week——–had a GREAT time, thanks for your suggestions and organising. Had a brilliant guide, Kenneth, really knowledegable.

By the way, the water hole isn’t open but Kenneth took us to the Rainforest Discovery Centre instead, he thought much better  anyway.

We also took ourselves to the Garama Wetlands to see Proboscus Monkeys, recommended.

We just wanted to say thank you for organising our holiday in Borneo – it really was fantastic. Everything worked out really well – all the guides were there to meet us and we would particularly like to commend Bryant who was our guide (and Jeffrey the driver) who were with us in Sandekan – he was the best guide we have ever come across – knowledgable, friendly and efficient! We got on really well with him. We manged to see wild Orang Utans as well as the ones at Sepilok which was very exciting!! Richard enjoyed his climb and I enjoyed the lodge while I waited! The Rasa Ria at the end was superb!

Thanks you for your excellent organisation – we will certainly be recommending you! (And Betty – our guide in KK said you were the best of all the Uk companies for them to work with and told us we were very lucky to have come with you!)

Thank you!

WOW what can I say!

You organised everything brilliantly

The trips, tours, accommodation, food, animals, yes we saw my orang-utans, probiscus monkeys, pygmy elephants plus much much more and the great big flower (sorry forgot its name!).

Awesome holiday, THANK YOU.

Well, we’re back safely – the only casualty being Gary’s camera after 3 days.  A walk on the ‘wild side’ with Andy at Sepilok was a bit hot and humid, and I think the perspiration got to it.

All the arrangements were just great.  The Nexus is definitely the best beach resort we’ve been to, and close to the best hotel over all.  The bed and pillows were excellent.   The guide in Sendakan was Andy, and he looked after us extremely well.  He’s mad on bird photography, so I have more bird shots now than I would nomally have, but probably got better images than I would have normally expected.

We took a tour with KK Tours up to the Tip of Borneo when we got back to KK, and that was good, as it was the Sunday market at Kota Belud.  They arranged that for us at very short notice, (we asked Andy on the Satuday morning, and went the next day) which was much appreciated.  There were also quite a lot of traditional music competitions on in May, as the harvest festival runs the whole month, and they had one at Kota Belud that Sunday.

Sepilok was good – the resort was not very busy.  At Sukau, there was a big Belgian group for a couple of days, but when we left we had been one of a small handful of guests; so they have lots of ups and downs in numbers.  We saw a lot of probiscus monkeys, and a gibbon (just), and two wild orangutans (although it could have been any old arm for all I could see!!).  Most of the probiscus monkeys were in family groups with one big male, but the one morning we saw two groups of young males.  An interesting social life!!

We went to the ‘Wetlands’ area by taxi on the first Sunday afternoon in KK – just got bitten by mossies – it seemed very run down.  But when we got back we went to the Lok Waki ‘Wildlife Sanctuary’ which is out past the airport.  It’s just a little zoo really, but it was good – got a few close shots of the probiscus monkeys, which had been hard to photograph at Sukau, and elephants pretending to be submarines.  So definitely to be recommended – we just took the shuttle into KK, then a taxi from there.  We only allowed an hour there – could have done with a bit longer.

But the best, and most unexpected, was Ras Aria, which is the ShangriLa resort just around the coast from Nexus.  We found out about it quite by chance from an Australian couple who had stayed there on an earlier holiday.  The Nexus concierge was a bit unhelpful, saying the orangutans were in cages, but later I phoned them and they do a regular feeding platform ‘show’ like Sepilok at 10 and 2.  So we booked a time, and went up by taxi.  They have six little orangutans at the moment – we saw three – and they are the first stage of the rehabilitation process, then they go through to Sepilok.  We didn’t see any cages, so the concierge must have been misinformed!  So definitely to be recommended.

So thanks very much for arranging such a great holiday for us.  KK Tours were good – they could have been a bit more proactive in offering ‘extras’, but maybe that’s not their style.  Betty was quite worried about you, Peter, I’m sorry I had not picked up your note that you’d had a back op.  Betty said you were one of their most favourite overseas agents!!

I thought I would send a short note to inform you that my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent trip to Borneo.

We were very well served by the local tour company. Our guide in the North, Bryan, was very helpful and knowledgeable and all in all a very memorable holiday resulted. We even saw the wild elephants!

Flights via Dubai/Brunei were fairly tedious, but at least Royal Brunei offer transit passengers a free city tour, and we also took advantage of one additional tour to to the extensive water village – highly recommended to fill in another two hours or so whilst awaiting connecting flights.

The Nexus is great though food a little pricey. We did, however, enjoy taking advantage of the happy hours for cocktails – essential considering that wine is priced around £45 a bottle.

I would like to contact Betty in KK if you have an e-mail contact address.

Peru is next on the list I think.

Me and Michelle are back from our amazing trip and we just want to thank you so much for all the organising you did for us!! Everything ran so smoothly, every time we landed from one of our flights or needing transferring, there was always a friendly face there to assist us. The highlight for both of us was staying at Sepilok…wow! What a fantastic place, so beautiful. We went to 3 feeding times over 2 days at the sanctuary which was fantastic, it was however the jungle trek where I ended up realising my dream. Kenneth, our tour guide, took us on the trek and we stumbled across ‘Boy’, an orangutan with one arm, he was adorable, he ended up following us as Kenneth was trying to guide him towards where he knew he should be, I got to touch him and feed him water, it was a dream come true. Absolutely everyone we met on our travels were so friendly, Borneo really is a little drop of paradise. All the accommodation you provided us was of great quality and we were always more than impressed.

The only thing I did find was that Borneo was a lot more expensive than I realised. You had said to me that we probably wouldn’t need more than £50 for the 8 nights there, food was relatively cheap but drinks were not, even soft ones, especially in the hotels, we were really surprised by this, I think we ended up spending about £200.

I would like to compliment Kenneth – our tour guide at Sepilok – he was fantastic from start to finish, full of really interesting information and just fab, we are actually friends with him on facebook now! He he. I would also like to compliment Betty – the General Manager from KK tours – she was adorable and ever so helpful, she stayed with us longer than she needed to just to ensure we were happy in our accommodation, she also brought us a drink when we stopped off on the way, lovely lady. All the staff were great but those two stood out for us.

Thank you again Peter, I have been telling everyone to look on your website if they are looking to go away to faraway places, the organisation was second to none, we felt very safe everywhere we went and never felt we were on our own. I was wondering if there is anywhere on your website where I can post some feedback? People need to know how great your company is!. Me and Michelle felt very special and my friends still can’t believe the whole thing was organised just for us, it was superb so a big THANK YOU once again.

Just a quick note to say everything went well

Your KK Tours people were very efficient and were always on time and very helpful. In particular they called the night before flights etc to confirm time of pick-ups which was reassuring.

Just by way of info the Sepilok Water hole is closed again however after the walk to the bird tower on day 5 (just over 2 hours there and back),the agreed view of us and the guide was that the programme arranged for day 6 was overly optimistic so this trek was not missed – we had more time watching the orangutans .

Also the Sepilok Nature resort is now “dry” , the Banana Cafe about 150 metres down the road more or less opposite the resort entrance is well stocked with cold beer and wine as well serving very good food

regards & thanks

I’d like to say a big thank you to you and to everybody who was involved in making our honeymoon truly amazing. Our guides, particularly Randall in Kota Kinabalu and Glen in Sukau, were brilliant and went the extra mile in making sure we were enjoying ourselves. The transfers were easy and efficient, even when we nearly gave Randall a heart attack when we overslept for our morning flight to Sandakan!

Everywhere we stayed everybody was friendly and helpful and we will continue to recommend NEIUK to our friends and family.

We will think of you for our return trip to Borneo sometime in the future.

Fay & Richard

Costa Rica was incredible and better than we ever imagined.  Our thanks to you as the tours and activities we did were first class !
