Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I supply you with my own itinerary?

A. Yes, we are happy to receive our clients own itineraries. Naturally sometimes local conditions and logistics might entail changes being suggested but we want you to be happy that everything will be as near to what you want as possible.

Q. Will I have to pay for extras?

 A.   We have always been of the opinion that our clients should not have to worry about too much extra expenditure while you are away. To this end, whenever possible, we will include all sight-seeing and excursions in the cost of your holiday. Monument and historical site entry fees will be included whenever possible. Items such as international flights; visa fees; medical and travel insurance; meals not included in the itinerary; items of a personal nature such as telephone calls; wi-fi connections, alcoholic beverages, tips, camera/video fees and laundry will have to be paid for locally.

Q.  Will I need a visa?

A.   Visa regulations and requirements are changing. Some countries are operating a Visa on Arrival system but it is possible that you will need to obtain a visa before you leave the UK. This is something we cannot obtain for you and it will be necessary for you to contact the Embassy or High Commission of the country you will be visiting to receive advice about whether a visa is required and if so, how one to obtain one.

It is necessary to obtain a visa for India in advance of your departure date. The application can be completed on-line but we recommend using the services of VHS in London whose trained eyes will notice any errors, advise you how to rectify them thus preventing any delays.

Q.  Will I be asked to hand over my passport on arrival at a hotel?

A.  In some countries a copy of your passport page with your details and photograph will be taken at Reception. You should always ask for you passport to be returned immediately and if for some reason it cannot be, you should pressure Reception until it is handed back to you.

In India, a new regulation requires that on arriving at a hotel or guest house, a webcam is used to photograph their guests. This might not happen and it is more likely that your passport photograph will suffice and a photocopy of your passport will be taken.

Q.  Is my holiday financially protected?

A. You can rest assured that your holiday and any flights we arrange on your behalf are fully financially protected.  We are bonded by the Travel Trust Association and have additional cover by holding an ATOL. This is something to bear in mind if you are contemplating making your own arrangements.

Q.  What is my baggage allowance?

A.  An important point which should be borne in mind is that although baggage allowances on international airlines can be quite generous, this is not always the case on domestic flights where baggage allowances can be considerably less.  If you are taking a domestic flight, and even if you have an international flight with the same airline, and your luggage is overweight, a surcharge will probably be imposed by the airline. It is always important to check your airline tickets.

Q. When do I have to pay for my holiday?

A. A deposit of £250 will be requested upon booking to secure your holiday. If flights are booked on your behalf it will be necessary to pay for them in full at the time the booking is made. Final payment for the balance of your holiday cost must be made two calendar months prior to departure.

Q.  How do I pay?

A.  Payment for any flights, deposits or final balances can be done in a number of ways. Of course a cheque is acceptable, but we can also receive payment via PayPal, bank transfer, or by payment from a credit card at a bank. Unfortunately we cannot accept credit cards.

Q. Is there anything else I should know?

A. We would ask you to read through our Terms and Conditions where anything which is not covered here will be set out.

Q. Nothing else?

A. Well, perhaps 20 years experience means that you can rely on us to ensure you have the holiday you have been imagining and planning for.
