After clearing Immigration and the on-line visa process and Customs you will be greeted by our representatives and driven to your hotel. After checking in there will be time for you to relax and recover from the flight. In the afternoon there will be a  half day tour of Delhi including seeing the Raj era government buildings  designed by Lutyens and India Gate. If time permits there will be a visit to a gurudwara (Sikh temple).

Day 3   After breakfast you will be met by our representative and driven to Agra along one of India's new highways. On arrival you will be checked in to your hotel and given an opportunity to freshen up before being taken to marvel at the wonder which is the Taj Mahal. You will also visit the Red Fort, a massive defensive structure in the city, built by the Moghul emperors.

Day 4  Today there will be an early start to pay a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. You will return to your hotel for breakfast and check out. The journey then continues to Jaipur, en-route calling at Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted city built by Emperor Akbar.  On arrival in Jaipur you will check in to your hotel where you will be able to relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 5  An early start to the day to drive to Amer and its famous Amber Fort which you will reach on elephant back. After a tour of the fort there will be a short tour of Jaipur including an opportunity to stroll through Baapu bazaar and, later, witness the Aarti (fire prayer) ceremony at the Birla temple. This will be followed by a visit to a typical Indian home where you will be treated to a traditional Indian meal by the welcoming household.

“Excitement & Indulgence in India”

Day 6   After another early start - we are sorry about that - you will be transferred to Jaipur International Airport to catch your flight to Kochi (Cochin) flying via Mumbai. On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After a chance to freshen up, there will be an opportunity to see something of  Kochi  and its famous Fort Area.

Day 7   After breakfast there will be a tour of Kochi including visits to the Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town with its wealth of antique and curio shops, and the Dutch Palace. You will then be driven  to Soma Kerala Palace located on its own secluded island and reached by a short boat ride.  This Resort provides your first chance to experience genuine ayurvedic treatments as well as superb food and friendly efficient staff. The remainder of the day is free to relax.

Day 8  After a leisurely breakfast there is nothing to do but to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the island and whatever ayurvedic treatments appeal.  Fully qualified staff are there to help you decide which will be most beneficial. Yoga is also available for those who want to start their day in a relaxed and peaceful way.  In the evening there will be a sunset cruise on the resort's own houseboat

Day 9   After an early breakfast you will leave the island and drive to the boarding point for the houseboat (Kettuvallum) for the day cruise through the Backwaters and out into the huge Vembanad Lake. In the late afternoon you will be driven to Kollam, one of the lesser known areas in Kerala, to spend three nights at the beautiful Fragrant Nature Resort.

Day 10 A day at leisure at the Resort, or, perhaps, take advantage of one of a number of excursions arranged to enable you to experience life in a rural environment.  In the evening there will be a cruise on the Resort's own launch to visit nearby reclaimed land which is now home to thousands of birds which arrive there each evening to roost for the night.

Day 11  Another day free at leisure to enjoy the facilities offered by the Resort or just relax by the very well maintained pool. In the evening there will be a sunset cruise on the Resort's houseboat.

Day 12  After a leisurely breakfast you check out from the Resort which is certain to have provided a memorable stay and then you will be driven to Kovalam and your final night in India. This will be spent at the interestingly named Turtle on the Beach hotel – it is not exactly on the beach - which has its own tribute to the Art Deco period and a welcoming staff.

Day 13  There will be an appropriately timed transfer to Trivandrum Airport for your return flight to the UK.

This is all complemented by the chance to wonder at the Taj Mahal, probably India's most famous monument... a day cruise through the Kerala Backwaters... witness an Aarti (fire prayer) ceremony at a temple in Jaipur and explore the streets & shops in the fascinating and historic Jew Town in Kochi.
